Crazy Comedy!!

I love to laugh, it really is the BEST medicine I can be on, that anyone can be on. And for some reason my favorite comedians...usually LOVE to swear. I don't think they are funny BECAUSE they swear...a lot...they just happen to be like the majority of the people and throw around the "f bomb" and such.

So I am at an impasse. Do I post some of my favorite funny clips from youtube...or will people be offended and think less of ME and stop reading/following and what not. Should I post them with this catchphrase in the title, "Don't Watch if Easily Offended" or some such nonsense...or should anything with swears be omitted from my blog? Seriously I am asking for opinions here.

This comedian I am posting, Carlos Mencia is hilarious. Half of what he says I am like "No Carlos don't go there", it is awful, but funny and sometimes SO point on it is amazing! But this is one of like 3 videos that has been "beeped" for the words you can't say on tv thus far. All the others are chalk full of swears as are Denis Leary's who cracks me up so much, I often need to run to the "loo".

So give your opinions readers...should I or shouldn't I? Am I a bad Mormon if I post them? Help a "Sister" out here!

I'm not too fond of swearing but that's just me. That's why I usually catch my comedy on Comedy Central where things are bleeped.

I enjoy Ralphie May. Saw a bit of his last week and laughed and laughed.

My favorite though is Jef-ff Dun-Ham.

Its your blog chickadee...you should do as you please. Maybe just forewarn people beforehand if it contains swearing.

Admittedly, I think Carlos Mencia is funny sometimes, too! Haven't checked out Dennis Leary's stuff yet though.

Carlos Mencia is hilarious. I'm not offended by swearing in comedy acts. It's not necessarily my thing, but I can't say that I haven't let a few "f bombs" slip out of my mouth. Comedians by nature are more crass and blunt. They say and do things that we are all thinking.

I actually have a Carlos Mencia story.

My husband loves his Comedy Central show, and I admit, it makes me laugh. So, he was coming into town, and my husband bought tickets. I hadn't seen anything other than his TV show.

I got on his website and watched some of his act and I was horrified! I know that comedians swear, and I'm no Molly Mormon, but it was too much for even me. WE didn't go, and he ended up selling the tickts to some friends.

Now, give me some Kathy Griffin, and I'm good to go.

You can do what you want. I'm sure there are some who will enjoy it. I probably wont watch it. Just give me a heads up :) I just hate that word.. so dirty. Makes me cringe. It's nothing personal towards you - some people can stand it! :)

I love Chappelle's Show. I love Dave Chappelle. I would marry him if he weren't married with kids.

I have to admit I love-The Chapell (sp?)Show. I am really not the one to say. Because I have a tendency to gravitate towards that sort of 'crude' humor.
(although sometimes even I have to change the channel. But like a car wreck I have to look twice!)
I don't think people would dislike you or think less of you because you love foul mouthed comedians and you want to put them on your blog. I think forewarning others is a great idea. It's just polite to give all the option. So they are not clueless when they click play!
BTW I also like Kathy Griffen and she as a potty mouth too.

I like Carlos Mencia but only if he is censored. I will watch him on Comedy Central but never any of his specials that aren't uncensored.

I can't watch things with swear words because it makes me swear too. I am so easily influenced in that way!

I didn't grow up in UT, so hearing and censoring conversation generally just comes naturally to me, I guess. My husband and I watched Bridgette Jones' diary with another couple and I don't think they enjoyed it much because of all the f-bombs. When they commented on all the swearing, I had to really think hard to remember any of it, because after the first one I just turned on the mental filter I used in high school and ignored it.
What gets me is comedians who are just crass and nasty. There's enough that's funny in life without degrading yourself and others. I think that kind of humor is popular these days though, because I don't care for a lot of what's on Comedy Central.
As for the clip, I agree, he's funny. So true that we only fight amongst ourselves 'cuz no one else presents a threat. Sadistically Patriotic.

Me and my mom both love Carlos Mencia.

He tells the truth and it doesn't matter what anyone thinks.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Kathy Griffin--wow, who knew?!?

i say *&($%@! go for it.

seriously, it does seem like there is some consensus to give a warning.

i'm easy, though. i'll watch anything.

If there is A swear or two in it, it usually wouldn't bother me, but if it's one of those things where it's every other word, it does start to bug me. I agree with the consensus--post what you'd like and give a warning. I don't think anyone is judging you.

One of my favorite shows in syndication is That 70's Show. Not tons of swearing besides @$$, but what's it about? Teenagers having sex who smoke mj every episode. Appropriate? No. Freaking hilarious? Yeah. We all have our little vices ;-)

I actually prefer his censored stuff too, it's just a matter of finding someone who POSTS a censored version...I love the BEEP.

I hate the F word too, that's why I feel unsure about posting some of them. To me, there are so many bloody words in the dictionary...why use some of these crude words. I rewatched the Denis Leary album I like, and it would be just as funny, if he eliminated his LOVE of the f bomb. So I will probably NOT post Denis...just feel a smidge of guilt when I Laugh and watch his clips on my own.

If I did post Carlos, then if it wasn't censored, I will say Watch at Your Own Risk, etc, otherwise I will just post it. Sorry I watch tv so if the "b" word is in there I let it go, everyone says it...not me, but it has been turned into a "phrase" sometimes of love...I KNOW!! LOL...

So I hope that sounds good. I DO prefer the cleaned up versions, because otherwise Carlos is SO hilarious!

I actually despise most Kathy Griffin, she is so crass to me. LOL!!

I will actually be interviewing Denis Leary's wife (Ann Leary) for my blog. They live a few towns over from me. She's a writer, so I'll be interviewing her about that. She commented on my ghost story, by the way, and I was all excited.

Oh, and don't comment on my blog about the interview because she reads my blog and I don't want her realize just how star struck I actually am! :)
