*I am using this pre-written post because I am very hypoglycemic tonight and feel like someone who is dying. I hope none of you ever gets Diabetes and has to experience this, I think it is the worst case of it I have had in a year or so at least. Happened in the shower too, so I barely made it to my room! :( I hope you read the post though, yup and ALL of it, LOL, and enjoy!
Alright!! Tonight we are discussing 10 more shows that were murdered way too early!! Freaky Links, LAX, Reunion, Roswell, Veronica Mars, Joan of Arcadia, Pasadena, Traveler, The Ex-List and The Pretender!!! It's like flashback TV!! Which did you watch? Which do you remember?!
1)Freaky Links - Derek Barnes (Ethan Embry♥) runs the Freakylinks.com website, which he took over from his twin brother, Adam, who committed suicide. The website is dedicated to uncovering the hidden and often dark and scary truths behind urban legends and the paranormal. After receiving strange messages related to Adam, Derek begins to search for clues to how and why his brother died. He and the Freakylinks team investigate the reasons behind Adam's death while hunting down stories for the website, and their weekly exploits bring them in contact with the "weird, the unusual, the occult, the paranormal, and the just plain silly". Like Glory Days it just stopped. And we never learn what really happened with Adam. It was an episode about finding the real other-worldly murderer and setting an innocent man free and then it was gone. It was really excellent, a great mystery within many other mysteries! It also starred Lisa Sheridan and Dennis Christopher. NOT on dvd.
2)LAX - "LAX is a drama that gives us a look at the busy Los Angeles International Airport. The show centers on the hectic lives of Harley Random (Heather Locklear) and Roger De Souza (Blair Underwood), the co-directors of the airport. Every day seems to pose a new challenge for this oddly matched pair. Their past relationships bleed into thier current one, further complicating Roger's marriage and Harley's boyfriend situations. The show also stars Tony Magulia (Paul Leyden), the Airline Passenger Coordinator who must find a happy medium between doing his job and being too kind to passengers. Nick (David Paetkau) the kind-hearted Immigration Officer, Betty (Wendy Hoopes) the sage Customs Agent, and Henry Engels (Frank John Hughes) the troubled LAPD Officer round out the main characters of this tense airline drama." I found the behind the scenes antics and info fascinating. You got to see what airports deal with, the problems from the serious to the stupid, and watch as Blair and Heather TRY to keep a profesional relationship. NOT on dvd.
3)Reunion - This was a really cool show with a unique twist. It followed 6 best friends from high school to current time, where one of the six is dead, a victim of murder. Each episode covered a year in their lives, bringing us closer and closer to who was murdered and by whom. It spanned 20 years. "It's a murder-mystery that promises stories of love and loss, marriage and death, triumph and scandal as it depicts both the hopes and dreams of 18-year-olds as well as the realities that mark those lives two decades later." Sadly, and to my utter frustration, it was cancelled after only 13 episodes into it's 21 episode run!! We finally learned who the victim was, but we never learned who his/her killer was!! And the cast was amazing, many of it's cast are in popular tv shows right now. Dave Annable (Brothers & Sisters), Amanda Rhigetti (The Mentalist), Will Estes and Alexa Davalos.
4)Roswell - This show was so good, and though it only had 3 seasons, I have to say it gave us an ending we could not only be happy with, but that was beautiful! Roswell was about 3 aliens, Max, Michael and Isabelle, trying to live among the humans, while keeping their secret, but trying to find out more about where they come from and how they got to Earth. But when local girl Liz is fatally shot, Max saves her withhis healing power, because he likes her. This leads to Liz and her two friends Maria and Alex knowing the truth too. And the local sheriff, is hot on their heels, so close to discovering their secret, so the humans and the aliens lives become forever entangled and love blooms between Max and Liz. But as other aliens threaten Roswell, and other, BAD, angencies discover their secrets, the 6 are forced to do many things to not only cover their tracks, but to save their very lives! Such a stellar show, it showcased Shiri Appleby, Brendan Fehr, Jason Behr, Colin Hanks and so many others!! ON dvd!!!
5)Veronica Mars - Man they did mess with the coolness of the show a bit in it's final season, which is why it probably did not get picked up, but it was such a cool show and Rob Thomas' idea for it's fourth season, putting Veronica forward in time so she was in school for FBI training, would have put it back to it's former GLORY!! It was such a charming, quick with the wit, show. In Neptune, California, the rich and powerful make the rules. Unfortunately for them, there's Veronica Mars, a smart, fearless 17-year-old apprentice private investigator dedicated to solving the town's toughest mysteries. Veronica used to be one of the popular girls, but it all came crumbling down around her after her best friend, Lilly, was murdered, and her then-sheriff father, Keith, was removed from office for naming Lilly's rich father as the lead suspect. During the day, Veronica must negotiate high school like any average teenage girl, though her classmates treat her like a pariah. But at night, she helps with her father's struggling, new private investigation business--and what she finds may tear the town of Neptune apart at the seams. Which is definitely does! And season two, the mysteries just keep coming, tearing Veronica's world apart. She is constantly in danger, and her relationships are hit hard all the time. I personally believe she belongs with Logan, but some actually liked Duncan...ew. Things she suffered at the beginning of episode 1 are dragged out all the way to the season finale of season 2!! It was like a beautiful onion, with each layer, you learned more and more. Wonderfully acted by such actors as, Kristen Bell, Enrico Colantoni, Francis Capra, Jason Dohring and more. ON dvd! And P.S. Creator Rob Thomas has not given up on a Movie version of Veronica Mars and Bell said she'd be on board for anything Thomas!!
6)Joan of Arcadia - "A drama that follows a typical family facing atypical situations, not the least of which is their teenage daughter's conversations with God. Police Detective Will Girardi (Joe Mantegna) dreams of providing a safe haven for his family. An outbreak of serious crime in his idyllic new town has challenged Girardi's desire for order, as have the ups and downs he faces with his family. Daughter Joan (Amber Tamblyn), has been acting a little strange. Most don't know that it has to do with the unusual way various people keep popping up, introducing themselves as God and then giving her specific directions to do things, such as get a job, joining the debate team or volunteer with children. The appearances are hard for her to believe, even more so as she never knows who's going to turn up next. One minute it's a cute boy her own age, the next it's the lunch lady or a little girl. She'd been keeping it a secret from everyone, though she has finally reveals it to her artistic and generally sensitive boyfriend, Adam (Christopher Marquette), who believes she's been experiencing hallucinations. Rounding out the Girardi family are her art-teacher mother, Helen (Mary Steenburgen); her 16-year-old science-geek brother, Luke (Michael Welch), and her older, newspaper-writer brother, Kevin (Jason Ritter), a former high-school sports star who is in a wheelchair as a result of a car accident. Joan's unlikely new best friend is her publicly caustic and rebellious, but privately insightful and supportive classmate, Grace (Becky Wahlstrom). Unsure of what God wants--if God exists--and if she's even sane, Joan tentatively follows God's cryptic directives, all the while trying to retain a normal teenaged existence." Yeah their description made much more sense than mine did! But the way it ended was so frustrating. A new man in town, Wentworth Miller, says he talks to God too, but Joan soon realizes he is not a good guy, he is evil, but no one but her younger brother and her 2 friends believe her. How are 4 teenagers supposed to take on, whay could be Lucifer's army? I KNOW!!! It just took a REALLY huge turn, and they cancelled it!! And it was loved by critics and ME!!! My Mom just watched the two seasons last year and was furious it ended and like THAT. Joan is being pitted against someone else who has her gifts, but who will win and at what cost? Agghhhhhh!!! ON dvd!
7)Pasadena - a very cool night time soap opera. An initially naïve young woman, teenager Lily McAllister, who witnessed a stranger's suicide and begins to investigate the secrets being hidden by her own very wealthy recalls the downfall of her family, the Greeleys, who have built a massive publishing empire over the course of several generations. And once confronted by a fellow student with a number of devious maneuvers her family has made throughout the years, the two begin searching for information on the woman in the photo and the man who killed himself. Lily starts learning about the dark secrets her family is keeping also, and her friend Henry gets too involved, and the two are ripped apart by her cruel family. The twisted secrets force Lily to forsake her own happiness. It ends with "Lily comes down to family dinner, and everyone goes on with their lives as though nothing ever happened." It is so soapy, which I love, that this is as much info as I can include without having to cut and paste pages worth of information so you would understand what I am talking about!LOL! NOT on dvd, but on TV.com it is quite a read, recaps that long are GREAT!!
8)Traveler - this was a very cool, intersting summer show that they just CHOSE not to even wrap up! Jay, Tyler and Will have spent the last two years in grad school living together. They are about to spend their summer holiday traveling. But when Will gives Jay and Tyler a simple dare -- to rollerblade through one of New York's most famous museums -- it makes them prime suspects in a terrorist bombing that moments later destroys the museum. They hope that Will can prove their innocence, but discover their friend has mysteriously disappeared. And has made it look like the two of them ARE terrorists and have been planning this for a long time. Will even made it appear like HE never existed, they realize every picture that Will is in, you can't see his face! They find clues as to what he has been up to, he is definitely up to something and using them as a diversions. As the FBI hunts them, the two young men try and trace Will's footsteps to find HIM, and prove their innocence. They are alone and can trust no one but each other. At the same time, Will Traveler, alive and well, goes on a similar search for answers. It is revealed that he is in fact a secret agent working for a division of Homeland Security called the Fourth Branch, and slowly a conspiracy is unravelled. Jay and Tyler reunite with Will by the seventh episode, and together the three attempt to bring those responsible to justice. They manage to kidnap Jack Freed, director the Fourth Branch, but before they can use him to clear Jay and Tyler's names, the limousine with Jack Freed in it explodes.....yeah exactly! Maybe Will IS a good guy, but are any of them alive and can they prove it? NOT on dvd.
9)The Ex-List- Oh this had a very short life and recently, but it was fun! When a woman named Bella, does a psychic reading at her sister's bachelorette party, she discovers that she's already dated the man she is destined to marry. She sets out to find out who it is by looking up past loves. And she better hurry because Madame psycic says she must marry within a year or she will be single forever! So Bella starts going back to every man she had ever dated, and while she hadn't found her man when it was yanked off the air, she learned something new from each revisitation she made. NOT on dvd.
10)The Pretender - I loved this series and the two or so tv movies they have had since it went off the air only made more questions arise!! The Pretender is the story of Jarod, a boy-genius taken from his family as a child. Jarod possesses the ability to quickly learn and impersonate different jobs and occupations. His abductors, a facility simply known as The Centre, tested his abilities through various simulations. But after years of these performances, Jarod becomes wise to the fact that these simulations aren't being used to help people. The Centre sells the sims to the highest bidder to do with as they please, whether it is for good or evil purposes. Knowing this, he breaks free from his captors. Now, as an adult, Jarod sets out to find his family. Along the way, he befriends many people, righting any wrong by using his abilities to become anyone he wants to be. But the Centre has a lot invested in Jarod, and they won't give him up easily. They recruit Sydney, his father-figure and trainer all through his time growing up in The Centre. Sydney is the only man who is close to Jarod, he knows how he thinks. Also in pursuit is Miss Parker, Jarod's childhood friend whose father runs The Centre. Both are aided by Broots, a nervous computer whiz who goes above and beyond the call of duty (whether he wants to or not). As it is Jarod is still not with his family, he met his father but his father had to take off to save a new child pretender, without Jarod. All Jarod wants is his Mom and he is still left unsuccessful, which BITES! And man, Miss Parker and Jarod belong together, WHEN she actually lets emotions slip, it is with or because of Jarod. ON dvd.

5 meaningful meanderings:
So I've been gone and have read all, I think, of your posts since I left. First, the family issues are REDICULOUS! I have never heard of such drama over something like this.
I'm glad you had an awesome birthday too! It will be nice when you're movies start to come.
I never watched any of the above mentioned shows...sad I know.
It's good to be back and caught up on "Wendy Land"!
sounds like some awesome shows used to be on t.v.... to bad they aren't anymore!
I haven't seen any of the others - but Veronica Mars - oh I how I miss Veronica Mars!
I used to watch Veronica Mars. I really liked it, but then I stopped watching for a while and couldn't get back into it.
It's a nasty habit of mine. Same thing happened with Heroes and Lost.
Although Lost just kind of sucks now.
I've been gone for awhile...love your passionate reviews. Plus the stories of shopping with Mom!
:)
