Up and Down

I went and saw UP with the family tonight. Katie had already seen it and had to leave before it was over, but she was so sick of missing out on going to the movies with everyone, because of her hectic dance teaching and performing schedule. So it was neat being all five of us again. Sam rarely will ever go to the movies, but this was 2 movies in two days! Yay Sammy!! We all loved it! Man did they make the "bad" guy look like Kirk Douglas or what?!! It was weird hearing Christopher Plummer's voice leaving Kirk Douglas's cartoon body, but it was still good. I am sorry but that IS Kirk Douglas!! LOL! It was just pure Disney/Pixar magic and I loved seeing the trailer for the new Disney cartoon movie, The Princess and the Frog. As much as I love what they can do with computer imaging, it is still the REAL cartoons, the hand painted cells that amaze me the most. Both utilize amazing artists, but to create an entire film from hand painted cells is just mind blowing to me. That is what I dreamed of being when I grew up, a Disney cartoonist. It will still always be the dream, I just love drawing and when they changed the Disney Animation thing in Hollywood Studios to include a lesson on how to draw a character, and I got into one of the classes and learned to draw Winnie the Pooh, it was so exciting, I wanted to stay! They had the light tables and everything, it was pure magic for me!! So this movie is delightful, a wee bit sad in the beginning when they show why Carl is a grouch now, but it is so adorable and Carl reminds me of my Grandfathers and some church members I know all rolled up into one curmudgeony old man!! This is a Must See. Especially if you have kids, and I also mean kids at heart, like me! Ed Asner voices Carl perfectly, just FYI, in case you didn't recognize his voice!

Everyone is telling me I am sick, and Sam said I sound like I have a mass of Q-tips stuck up my nose, but I swear I sound the same to me. And all I notice is I feel tired so far this week, Excercising has been so hard. Tonight we do the Dance Away the Inches Express and my Mom tried it for the first time...yeah not loving it. She says it was no warm up and so she would just go back to walking in place, which I told her to do, but she was frustrated I think. The moves were just too alien to her. We only do that Tuesdays and Thursdays though, Monday, Wednesday and Friday are different Walk Away the Pounds programs and she definitely liked Monday better than today. I am still proud of her, just walking in place. She did a full day of work and it was an early day too, if it were me, I wouldn't want to do it, but she did it anyway. And I don't care if she decides she can't excercise with us too often, she works so hard, I am just so proud that she is trying. I know she initially was going to do it to help keep me doing it, but I have Sam as a partner after all, and she is still trying to do this, so she is amazing! My Mom continues to amaze me all the time.

I really love your movie reviews. I've got a serious crush on Daniel Craig so that one is going into the netflix queue; I watched the previews for my life in ruins and thought yes yes!! Really want to see that one.

I really do not like animated movies (please don't hit me)...but I've heard so much about UP and with your recommendation I am thinking I will take my baby boy to see it this weekend.

Glad you enjoyed the movie.

And, well done to you for keeping up the exercising, and to your "Mom" for trying to join in.

There was the precious moments and the sad and the funny.
I loved the life story they went through. as little kids. it sacred me when he stepped in that plank across the attic and fell right through! or when she put the balloon back in his room. it floated in and he smacked himself with his cast. haha
Kevin flapping his wings. the squeeky dog's voice! haha
Dog. when he was like "point!" and "i was hiding under your porch because i love you." haha
"i like you temporarily."
just a fantastic movie!
