So I went and saw Angels & Demons tonight with my parents. They were more excited than me as they ADORED the book, my Dad was almost giddy when the movie started. Don't worry, I won't be revealing anything, because you may love it and I would not want to ruin the ending for you. But I left the theater like, ehhhhh, it was okay. I mean, I was not bored, but I didn't even leave full of questions I wanted to ask or anything. It was just...over. Okay... I felt like, should have just gone and seen Star Trek again. THAT was a good movie.
My parents were disappointed, apparently they strayed FAR from the book. You could hear my father making sounds of disgust throughout the entire 2 hours and 20 minutes. He was very disappointed they didn't stay true to the book, and while he said it was fine, you could tell because he knows how it should have been, that he will forever be mad/sad. It is not like someone will take the movie any time SOON and remake it, maybe someone will get the guts in 50 years but anytime soon, to make the people who loved the book happy? Nope. So my disappointment is nothing compared to theirs. I was just hoping for a great, cool movie. They were expecting a book they loved, brought to life before their very eyes. My Mom and I both think movie wise, The Da Vinci Code was better.
There was just so much hype built up about it, apparently the book is amazing and they made a movie where I just was meehhhhh. Catholic stuff...they chain the Cardinals in to pick a new Pope? Weird....okay....Vatican stuff...wow that is one ugly hat...Tom running....running some more...ANOTHER church...geez do they have anything else in Rome? Yup there ya go, my summary! LOL!
I know, I lead such an exciting life. Seen a movie, excercised with Sam, showered, watched TV with my Mom...whoa I am insane.
P.S. Awww CRAP!! I think I figured out part of the All My Children murder story! I bet it wasn't Adam that was killed it was probably STUART!! Sweet, simple, lovely Stuart!! Noooo!! I swear I am right, they are identical TWINS people, and we saw Stuart going up to the mansion, but he has been MIA since the body was discovered!!! Agghhhh!!!! And dang I was right, episode is now over...Stuart!!

9 meaningful meanderings:
I haven't even read that book yet...I feel like that with a lot of things that get too much hype. I was not really into Twilight either. I think when I hear the rave reviews I set my expectations a little too high.
Maybe I'll skip the book and just watch the movie. :)
I loved the book and I am glad that I read it first. But I think that I will wait until I can rent it at the Redbox for $1.00 to see the movie.
Honestly, I thought that the ending of the book was one of the most ridiculous things I had ever read.
I thought that the movie actually made it MORE believeable.
They both sort of sucked.
I haven't watched All My Children forever. You mean to tell me Adam and Stuart are still alive and kicking? Aren't they, like, in wheelchairs yet?
Heylllo, Came by to say thanks for being my blog friend. I have awarded you the NENO award....Have fun, pass it along, and thanks for the friendship. cyberhug...♥
my husband has been excited to see it since he saw the first preview...maybe we'll make it sometime this week.
My mom wants to see it, since she read the book. Now I wish I hadn't bought her the book for mother's day. She'll be disappointed.
Movies seldom live up to what the books put out. Makes me thankful I dont get interested in reading the books until AFTER I've seen the movie.
My husband LOVES this book- has read it several times, and I enjoyed it, too. I thought they did a great job with the movie. There was SO MUCH in the book- too much, it was really necessary to cut a few people out and wind the story line up a little tighter, which I appreciated, and the book is SO unrealistic, they cut a little of that out.
We really liked the movie. Just thought it mgiht be interesting to hera another perspective, but from us- 2 thumbs up.
