The Rest of Christmas Weekend

Sunday the 27th was a pretty good day. It was the 14th Anniversary since Pop, my Mom's father passed away, but sadly, I have less of a hard time on this day. It isn't that I don' miss him too, but Pop was a Brigadeer General, forced to retire after 41 years in the Army. He wasn't a grandfather that encouraged hugs or kisses...I have no idea how he even felt about me! Sadly, my Mom has said that herself. We loved him, but in a different way. He was very strict and could be very intimidating. Everything had it's PLACE in his house, so you better not mess anything up. We miss him, and I checked with my Mom during the day, but she feels he is in a better place, and is no doubt, commanding people about up in Heaven.

Anyway, we reheated Mom's soup and had it for dinner that night, with hot biscuits. I wanted to kill Katie because some "naturopath", one she doesn't even use anymore, said potatoes weren't good for her, so she scoops all the delectable potatoes out, and it takes forever! I had her put them back in the pot! There is only like a few bowls left now and I laid claim to the last of the soup. I am THE appreciator of my Mom's homemade soup, so I actually didn't get that much of a fight. Hmmpphh! Good!

Then we watched Four Christmases. Only my Dad and I had seen it. Katie was out with friends, and had just watched it with one of them. So Sam and Mom had yet to experience the nightmare that Reese and Vince go through that Christmas Day!! They liked it! They also found it odd that Jon Voight was the only SANE parent. We had a nice time, and even watched another episode of Criminal Minds before Mom went off to take a bath.

Katie got home and wanted to see a movie badly. So I went with her to the 11pm showing of It's Complicated. It wasn't crowded in OUR theater, which was good as it was a small one and we sat farthest back because it is still close to the screen! LOL! The parking lot was packed though, all these teeny-boppers and teens hanging out because they had no school the next day. Oy, I will be happy when they have to go back! Hehe! The movie...well I cannot DECIDED if I liked it or not! It was crazy! I mean, it was not boring, for even a second. But Alec Baldwin is so not the OLD Alec! Him stripping down and seeing that big belly is NOT attractive! Seeing his bare butt, is NOT a good thing, not in a LONG time!! I was telling Katie, Stephen does NOT need to be jealous of his brother Alec Anymore!! *shudders* It was definitely entertaining, but it was also such a bizarre little movie, it was like...no I have no idea how I felt about that!! LOL! But I had a good time! And I wasn't bored, how could I be with Steve Martin and Meryl Streep being stoned out of their gourds, and Alec stalking his ex even as he is trying to make a baby with his current wife, the pretty Lake Bell, who was unlikable as Agnes I must say. Their kids and John Krasinski who was the fiance of one of the kids were my faves! Their reactions to their parents was good. And John, the fiance, being the one to figure out they are having an affair was HILARIOUS!! So with this particular movie, you will have to decide on your own. Let me know what you think if you do/have seen it though. I still am undecided!

We got home and after a shower I watched 2 Lifetime movies. There were a few on this weekend that didn't sound boring so I taped 4. I watched the last 2, The Nanny's Secret and Intimate Stranger which was based on a real case. Psycho guy stalking this woman he BRIEFLY dated and he has a hiding place IN her house she knows nothing about and starts making her life a living hell. And the police do not believe her as they can find no proof he has ever been inside the house since they ended things...well she ended things. She seems like an idiot in the start as he seems like the perfect guy, wants to make her life happy, but she was obviously smarter than we give her credit for as he is NUTS! Plus it turns out he has been in her crawl space since BEFORE they began dating....gross!! So that was my weekend! LOL!

On Monday shopping for food for the week and for New Years' Eve happened and we watched The Proposal, which was even better the second time. Man, Ryan Reynolds is HOT! Lucky Scarlett Johannsen!! My Mom is returning to work Tuesday which is sad, we had her for 5 days and now it is back to the normal schedule. My Dad is returning too, but he is already planning a few days off in January, so he is lucky.

The New Moon Party

So yes indeed I did go to the New Moon Party. I woke up in agony, but had already decided I would take my pills for the pain and deal with it. I was not going to miss this chance to actually be at something, to do something normal people do. Go to a fun party. But most of all, I felt like this might be the one chance Hannah and I had, to connect in the same room, and hopefully solidy a real friendship. I had been looking forward to this for so long, sure I was nervous too, but so was Hannah! We both were excited/nervous about the party, but wanted it to be our chance to see if we could be the friends we were online, in real person. So I decided when I woke up, and sucked down a percocet, I was doing this.

There was the matter of getting there. I didn't want to drive. At all. But could I actually ask Katie if she'd mind dropping me off at 7pm and maybe not get called up until after 6 in the morning to be picked up? I was very unsure, but I went ahead at my Mom's urging and asked and she said YES!! I was so relieved, being IN the car would make me nervous enough, so not having to worry about driving relieved me of some stress. I was getting really excited and scared as it was about time to leave. I packed my percocet and energy drinks in case I got sleepy at the movie, then I stopped and sucked half a bottle down. I wanted to not seem drugged. So we left. Hannah and I were texted as we got close, about how nervous we were. Hannah is like my brain twin, as we have called it. We have similar things in common all over the place, we just have so much in common it is cool. So Kate pulled away and Hannah opened the door. I was there at 7, the party didn't start until 8-8:30pm. Hannah said it was okay for me to come early, I thought I might do better getting there before all the other people, and it would give us a chance to break the ice, you know?

So she showed me the decorations which were freaking amazing!! There was the Volturri room and the den was Bella's Birthday room. In the Birthday room, Hannah's cousin Amber had made a fake replica of the cake from the movie but covered in real fondant. And there were quotes framed and stuff all over. And oodles of candles. The Volturri room was the coolest and had the most awesome foods! Before I go on let me tell you about the decorations and the desserts, I have pics to go along. Here is Bella's birthday cake:

Oh and I musn't forget the Pin The Tail on The Jacob!!! Which Hannah and I didn't get to play! Booo!!

Noe let's get to the Volturri room!! First here are a bunch of the decorations that were just incredible!!

Vampire bites which were little red licorices, and there was even gift bags!! We got pins and trading cards and candies, it was just awesome!!

These were Type A, B and O Twizzlers for the movies!! So cool! I never got one of those, boo. LOL. Now to show some of the COOL foods. When people later got there, there were stuff like pizza rolls, olives, marinated fresh mozzerella, mozzerella sticks, tomato "jam" and bread, etc, all Italian food for the Italian Volturri! So cool and imaginative!! But this stuff was the coolest!

Here is the Type A, B and O sodas. And glasses lines with blood. Each glass had a name from the movie, so you could keep track of your drink/glass.

Here is a closer pic of the "blood".

Here is a better look at the glasses. They used corn syrup so it was like cherry lollipops dried on the cups lips. It was so good, we wanted to just stand there and suck on empty glasses. Look here is Molly, Hannah's sister, doing just that!LOL!

M & M's of the Volturri colors...me being OCD I had to have one of each color at a time...lol.

Check out the "blood" chocolate fountain. They used a mound of red dye and Ghirardelli chocolate (yuuumm) to acheive this:

And a closer look at the chocolate. Guess what they had to dip in it? Cream puffs!!! Mmm. We did not get enough time at the house, I am serious.

These are the vampire cupcakes, aren't they cute?!! The blood gel is oozing out, LOL!

And these freaking amazing creations that Hannah made are the werewolf cupcakes!! She used marshmallows to fill the snouts and the mouth is a fruit roll up.

Here is a closer look, these things were the coolest thing I have ever seen!

And these delicious cookies that look like blood too, were SO yummy! I only got one, but I want the recipe, they were scrumptious!

Okay now that you see the ambience and awesome foods that were all around me, I continue with the story! So after she showed me all the decorations and food, Hannah wanted to hear all about the accident so we went into Bella's room to talk. It was going really easy. She totally got my freaking out and everything, and "Aunt" Debbie came in.

Okay a quick rundown so you get how people are related and how I met Hannah. I have talked about Sister H or Jahoodie, before, our BFF family and like real family. Well Jahoodie has a brother (don't know him) and 3 sisters. Beth (she is Mom to Amber, Jesse and Julie), Naomi (she is Hannah's Mom and Molly and Max's) and Debbie. So I have know Hannah like HER whole life, I am like 10 years older. But between my young at heart thing and her old soul, we kind of meet up at the perfect place, lol. So my new friend is Jahoodie's niece. We just started talking one day and had so much in common. Then we lost touch and reconnected at Jahoodie's birthday party and she invited me to the party! Yay! So "Aunt" Debbie, is Hannah's real Aunt...okay, we got it?

So Debbie is a bit...odd. She had problems and has been on a LOT of meds over the years, so she isn't always there, or hasn't been in the past. She seemed coherent at the party. She was there early too. So when she walked in and sat down, I had to limit what I said to Hannah. There were things I could tell Hannah about the accident, that I am not okay telling anyone else. So that kind of limited that. Then Amber arrived, she had been upstairs, and Naomi, Hannah's mom were all there and we were all talking. Then Hannah went outside with Amber to light her Volturri bags that had candles inside. People were supposed to be arriving soon. I knew Weezie and her hubby Zak were invited but I had no idea who else was coming. I ended up alone...with Debbie. I got pure Debbie on me, asking me about the surgery AGAIN, telling me she had lost 40 pounds recently just by not spending all day in bed anymore, etc. As soon as Amber re-entered the room I took off. I told Naomi, you left me alone with Debbie!, which made her laugh.

Hannah and I were doing good though, talking about stuff. We tried out the "blood shots" as Nay made them. They were like a strawberry daquiri kind of thing. So good, I wanted a big glass of just that! Nay was like I warn you, we may all be peeing red by the end of the night! I didn't care, it was all so fun. Then Beth arrived, follwed by Jahoodie!! Yay! Weezie and Zak, and later a bunch of Amber's friends. I stayed with Hannah in the Bella room, we hung out with Jahoodie, Weezie and Zak. Weezie wasn't staying for the movie! Sad! But she is very pregnant and couldn't stay awake that long. So we chatted with them and then the quiz started. Hannah helped me with one of the questions (shhhh don't tell!) but it didn't matter, these were SO hard, I only git 7 out of 13!! One of Amber's friends won the New Moon calendar. Then it was the quotes which were from all FOUR books! We had to put either from what book or who said it. I went with who and only got THREE out of 10 right!! Sad!! There was a tie so they used Pin the Tail on the Jacob to break it. Two of Amber's friends won the book companion and the soundtrack. That sucked!

Hannah and I would be talking movies or TV and Zak kept interrupting to talk manga with her!! Grrr Zak!! Yeah you hear me, grrrr! I don't know manga!! Weezie left and then we all left to get there at 10pm. Ugh 2 hours early. We had to leave all that awesome food, barely eaten (!!!!) behind! I was so sad!! I was like I hadn't eaten that or that, etc. SO sad! I drove with Hannah, Zak, Nay and Jahoodie to the theater. They were doing things a little differently at this theater. It didn't matter what your ticket said or when you had bought it, they were letting people in NOW, and filling up one theater at a time! Which is so unfair, Nay picked these tickets up weeks ago and we got crappy seats anyway. They wanted to stuff one theater full before opening the next theater up. Unfair. But we had connections!! MOLLY!! Molly works at the theater, so she did her thang for awhile and we went from theater 5 where we would have to look straight UP to watch the movie, to theater 6 where we got decent seats. I didn't get why Molly seemed pissed off though and there was NO saving seats, the cop said if you had to pee, too bad for you!! But Molly knows him and now knowing everyone calls him Fudg, I am not scared of him. Molly was unhappy because she wanted us put in theater 7, which she got. Theater 7 was empty except for a few girls that were the daughter and friends of another employee!! Molly was my hero that night, she rocked!!

Well the theater ended up filling all the way up anyway. Molly doesn't know HOW it happened, that theater was supposed to be extra and empty basically, except for lucky people IN with employees. But our seats were PRIME, so we were happy. And yes I even peed! I was sitting next to Hannah and ....yeah you guessed it, DEBBIE!! I had fun talking with Hannah and Amber. Things got a little quiet at one point, we got shy. Then like 5 minutes before the movie was supposed to start we got chatty!! Oy! But the movie theater was having trouble so it didn't start until 12:25am so we got to be chatty. The pain was back in a bad way so I took a percocet. But then I got really drowsy and had to gulp down like 2 bottles of 5 hour energy before I felt awake. The movie started and Debbie kept making gross comments to me, gross because they came from her! "He can bite me anytime", and "mmm those pecs!"...made me want to GAG. *shudders* I did NOT like the movie. Yup, THERE, I said it. The second book is NOT my fave at all, I only love the part where Alice shows up to the end, so the last 1/4 of the book. They took that part and decimated it. No plane ride, no tunnels and tunnels to the Volturri, no huge encounter WITH them, no Bells clinging to Edward because she thought this was the last time she'd hold him, no vote the way it was in the book, NO Bella realizing Edward DID love her as much as she loved him, NONE of that. They took 5 minutes and changed it completely and PUT IT IN 5 MINUTES!! So the CG is amazing and they did great, but I did NOT like it, I prefered Twilight. I really am looking forward to Eclipse because Edward is in all of that, and it is out in June!!

So Hannah knows what I though and why and gets it, but she loved it, she is Team Jacob too, s she has seen it 4 times already!! Anyway, I had to pee so bad and only Hannah waited for me. Mean people!! So it was like 3 in the morning and we were going to a diner. Amber's friends didn't follow us to theater 7 so they were gone and Molly and her dad and her boyfriend left, so it was me, Hannah, Jahoodie, Nay, Zak, Beth, Debbie and Amber. Everyone mostly had breakfast except for me. We had a lot of fun. On the way over everyone got a kick out of Debbie grossing me out. We talked about the movie and other movies and Supernatural (Hannah and I are huge fans!), etc. We had so much fun! Hannah swore my pickle juice somehow ended up on her toast, she hates pickles, so it was funny when she ate sausage dipped in syrup, now that is the gross thing. Heehee! She collected the money from everyone and put it in proper numerical order...see we fit as friends! LOL!

We drove back to Nay's house and everyone was saying goodnight. I was sad I didn't want the night to end, I was having so much fun, regardless of the pain! I was thinking I got to call Kate then, when Nay was like bye Wendy, and I froze. It was pouring and I hadn't even called Katie yet! But Hannah was like, MOM! Wendy is coming in! Thank goodness for Hannah! Hannah, Amber and I decided we wanted to watch that night's Supernatural, so I figured I'd call Kat when we were done. I hadn't heard from her since the movie was an hour from starting. Hannah showed me her room first, wow she has every inch covered with something, her posters are like wallpaper!! And she has such awesome faeries and Harry Potter and Jack Skellington stuff. It was cool, and then I saw her organized Manga and when I told her a feeling of calm washed over me, she was like, EXACTLY! You get it! It really was calming to see something in such neat order. So we went back downstairs to watch the show.

We were about halfway through, and traumatized, they ruined 2 characters!!, I heard a buzzing Amber had mentioned. That was when I thought, OH NO! I had put my phone on vibrate when the movie started and never changed it!! I had missed a call and 2 texts from Kate! I called and told her to come, the show would be over by the time she got there! I was so sorry!! We watched the show and sat there shocked at how depressed we were from it. And it won't be back until the last week of January!! We were all mad!! Kate arrived and I asked for a wolf cupcake to take with me. It was pouring out really hard now so she gave me a baggie for it and we hugged goodbye. We were both going to Weezie's baby shower on that Saturday so we'd see each other again soon.

I chatted about the night to Katie all the way home. I hadn't wanted it to end, I was having so much fun! I was like high on life. When we pulled into the driveway I suddenly deflated like a balloon. I was exhausted and in terrible pain. It was like 6:30 am. LOL. Mom listened to a short sum up and told me to forget showering, she wanted me to take all my pills and pain pills and lay down. So I did and slept for 12 hours. I was so excited for Saturday. Weezie's shower and I could see my friend Hannah again!! I was like so happy that we got along so well, I really want a friend I can hang out with, Weezie is married and having a baby. And Hann and me have so much in common and I think we are good for eachother. So I would say the party was a resounding success. The poor uneaten food though!! *sob* Hannah and I say it should have started at like 5...maybe in June, you never know!

iTALIAN!

I made the dinner for tonight, my Stuffed Shells! My family loves when I make lasagna or stuffed shells. Apparently I make it the best! My Mom was the one who taught me how to cook lasagna and stuffed shells, but I ended up doing my own thing one time and now no one else will make it!! So unfair, LOL! Just because they like mine so much does not mean I have to be the only one to make these dishes!! Sandy rocks at Chicken Parmesan but is she the only one who makes it? Not at all. So why can't I be treated to homemade Italian too? I always loved my Mom's, just because I decided to have fun with it, does not mean I don't like other kinds! I get sick of my own! Doesn't that happen to you guys too? Where yeah you are craving some food, but want someone else's version for a change!?! Sure, someone else made it last time and I was not so impressed but I WAS impressed enough to enjoy it and appreciate that someone else put in the effort. It was a nice change. But no one has been making ANY meals lately except for Sunday's deliciousness, so I decided it was time for Shells. And they turned out really yummy. Yes I even took pictures:

My eyes are still bigger than my stomach so Katie had to take two of my shells, but here is my yummy dinner plate. It was served with english cucumbers and garlic bread. The garlic bread I buy is by Pepperidge Farms, and is SO yummy!

We watched House around the fire as we ate my dinner. I don't think we really need the fire on, it has been SO warm the last few days. We are having a Lady Bug infestation now, which freaks me out, I am THAT afraid of bugs, period. So I am hoping the cold weather returns ASAP. It was also weird to go for a walk on a Fall day and feel sweaty in a light open jacket.

Besides going down to Fashion Bug for a couple of pairs of comfy pants, because wearing jeans EVERY day for the next 5 months doesn't sound great, I did nothing else of note. I bought 4 pairs. Two are just solid colors. Two have cute designs at the bottom, I love them!! And they are SO comfortable! I bought them in a size too big, because they are all 50 to 84% cotton, which means shrinkage. And they were perfect in Large, but if it shrinks, I'd have wasted $71!!

Local Culture

Last Saturday, my sisters and I went to the 41st Annual Southington Apple Harvest Festival. It was chilly but luckily nothing like THIS week, which would have made it insane to hang outside to have fun in. But it was perfect Fall weather.

The line for Apple fritters was INSANE as usual on the weekends. The best time to go is during the day on weekdays. They are the one booth open weekdays, like all day. Man that church must rake in so much money. And they have some sort of contract that makes them the only ones allowed to see Apple Fritters.

This is the home stretch of the line, but if you click on the picture, the small people going around the corner, that is the line continuing. Usually on weekends, you wait for hours. And like I have mentioned, if they run out and you have been standing in line for 3 hours, tough luck. So that is why Kate picked up some for us on a weekday. Here is a new '09 pic of the delicious Apple Fritter! I will NOT say how many I ate...I am too ashamed.

So our main objective was finding the best foods. Strangely there was SO much Thai food, I was like WHERE is the Festival food? Like these amazing onion rings?

Thankfully I can get ones just like these 325 days a year, at a local restaurant! They are SO good! We got some potato and cheese perogies first, and you know what? The frozen kind we bake at home are tastier. And these 4 suckers cost $5!! Then Kate got a piece of pizza which she gave to me because she decided the $5 was worth it to get NE Clam Chowder. The pizza sucked, we threw it out. Katie came back and the amount of chowder they gave her was about 1/3 cup. Five bucks for 1/3 of a cup!! And she ended up finding it gross so she threw it out. The only thing I actually asked that we buy was a Lobster Claw pastry. I saw them on a Food Network show and they had looked so yummy! We weren't impressed by the pastry, but the cream inside was HEAVENLY!! Sadly one huge chunk fell to the ground, and another fell splat onto my camera. We were sopping up cream from all the nooks and crannies of my poor new Nikon.

We checked out some of the booths. There was a LOT of Arts and Crafts booths this year!

There was one new booth we had a lot of fun at. Lots of taste testing going on. It was a Almonds and cashews booth and had the most interesting flavored nuts! Bavarian Cream, Apple Crisp, Raspberry, Banana Nut, Punpkin Pie, etc. Some were really good, oh my goodness, and I don't like almonds that much. Some were...interesting, but it was such fun to get to taste test all these different flavors. Kate bought Sam, Mom and Dad each a cone of the Bavarian Cream I believe. They taste a lot like the warm ones we get in Disney World, but those are even better, no competing with Disney!

We didn't bother with the rides, as we want to go to Lake Compounce, and do the Haunted Graveyard and the rides at night. We did it last year and it was SO much fun! And the prices were so high for such lame rides.

Though we did play Whack-a-Mole, Katie's most favorite game, and she did indeed win and here is her loot! A Pirate Bear!

And a few pics of us at the Festival.post signature

Bad Food, Good Flick + A Winner

Sam took me and the parents out to dinner tonight. My Dad was really PRO Ruby Tuesdays, and though I don't particularly like it, or my Mom, we agreed to go. I was told they had changed their menu again, so I was willing to give it a shot. We sat down and looked over the menu...had it changed much? Nope. It was mostly burgers, which is NOT what Ruby Tuesday's was all about when it first opened. I used to love the menu and the salad bar. Now, salad bar is still there, but the menu just, to me, sucks. If I wanted just a good gourmet-ish burger, I would go to Red Robin...which also has a better selection of food, I KNOW those burgers are good. But I decided to go with something new, in hopes I'd find a gem, so I ordered the Chicken Fresco. (A fresh, all-natural grilled chicken breast topped with seasonal vine-ripened tomatoes, lemon-butter sauce, and a splash of balsamic vinaigrette. Served with fresh, steamed broccoli and white cheddar mashed potatoes.) Sounds yummy right? So I went with that and to save Sam money, I forgoed the salad bar. I also ordered a Strawberry Lemonade.

Well the first thing I think is a problem at R.T., is that unless you get the salad bar, you sit there starving until your meal is served. No bread, or rolls, or anything. Which I think is a huge mistake. Especially when other people at the table did get the salad bar, or got is AS their meal, and you watch them eat and are dying of hunger and they finish before you even get your beverage. Yup, apparently making a strawberry lemonade is really hard and time consuming. When I finally got it, I was starving so I took a few big gulps, and gasped at the horrid taste I got as it went down! It was disgusting! And all 4 of us ended up trying it and hating it. We have no idea if the lemonade was rancid or if there was alcohol in it, but it was grotesque! I sent it back and asked that it be taken off the check. I was NOT willing to give them another chance (or 25 minutes) to get it right. Yuck! I could not get the taste out of my mouth either. Finally my meal arived and the add on turkey burgers for Dad and Sam. My Mom just had salad bar and was long done. The first 2 bites I thought were delicious, then I realized it was just because I was so hungry. When I actually tasted my food, I realized the chicken had NO flavor...uhm where is this lemon-butter sauce??! And it was tough. And the potatoes were too strong for ME, the potato lover. I was starving so I ate a bunch of Sam's fries. The rough chicken was just not good and not filling. My Mom picked at it too, and while she liked the potatoes, she hated the chicken and non-sauce too. It just felt like a big frustrating waste to me.

We went back home and I looked up movie times for Sorority Row. My Mom said she would go see it with me, even though she doesn't LOVE horror movies, but she does better than anyone else with them. So we went to a 10:05 showing. Saw some good movie trailers, I have seen before. Like The Stepfather, and The Box. Cool looking movies! And then I saw a BRAND new trailer for New Moon that rocked!! And I have seen many posted online here and on trailer sites. It was awesome!

I really liked the movie. It had the traditional horror movie formula that I think is a winner and doesn't need to be mutilated. Examples of mutilating the formula is gross horror like The Hostel movies or The Hills Have Eyes franchise which I have never and will never watch. It reminded me of the reason I first started to like scary movies. The overall sense just reminded me of the past of the horror genre, but in a good way. It was well made and had unexpected twists, which is why my Mom said she didn't hate it. She liked the surprises they gave us. As you may have gotten from the commercials, Meagan wants some revenge on her boyfriend for cheating on her. So with the help of 5 of her sorority sisters (well 3 knew about it, 2 were in the dark) , she devises a plan to make her boyfriend think he killed her. And the 5 sisters help Garrett out when he freaks out because Meagan is foaming at the mouth, and help him bring Meagan to a hospital, but they get "lost" on the way. Then Meagan "dies" and they decide what would be best is if they hack up her body and get rid of the evidence. But they are so convincing to Garrett (and one of these sisters is his REAL sister), that while they are not looking, he takes the tire iron and shoves it into her chest. You see, they made comments about her not sinking if she had air in her lungs so he decided to SOLVE that problem. Only now Meagan is dying, and while Cass and Ellie try to save her, she dies. Most of them want to go get help immediately, but then Queen-Bee Jessica starts reminding them all of what they will lose. And that Garrett, Chugs own brother, will go to prison. Chugs does not like this, so she starts agreeing with Jessica, and then Claire is agreeing too. Her father would die if he found out what they had done. Cassidy was like NO, we have to tell, this was a joke gone wrong and it was Garrett that killed her. She asks Ellie to go along with her, but Ellie is the weak one and caves. So then Garrett threatens Cass, and she is all, what are you going to do, kill me? Which makes him collapse. She walks off, trying to get cell reception. The other 4 wrap up Meagan's body and bring her to what looks like a well to me, but is a mine shaft. They shove the body in and you hear it when it hits the bottom. Cass shows up, saying she can't get cell reception and asks WHAT did they do. They then all turn on her. They wrapped up Cass's coat with Meagan, so if she blabs, they will all say SHE killed Meagan. So this solidifies the Tell No One decision.

So 8 months go by and the girls graduate. Cass has distanced herself from the sorority and lives with her boyfriend Andy. She is however, expected to go to the graduation luncheon because her Mom is a former member and will expect it. And while she is there, they ase her to help set up for the Graduation night party and she finally agrees to for Ellie's sake. Ellie is so weak and emotional. That is when they all get a text of the bloody tire iron and Chugs decided it is just her brother and his new weird sense of humor. Oh if only it was just a joke. This is where the deaths begin. And you keep thinking, okay it has to be this person, but the killer is so unexpected, that is what makes it a good scary movie! Sure the reasons the killer kills are insane, but so are Jason's reasons, or Freddie's, etc. The killer IS insane after all. But it is just so, Whoa, I did not see that one coming, that makes it so good. I liked it. And I liked that it had a resolved ending. Sure there is one thing that makes it either possible to have a sequel, or something to always make you wonder, but that was cool too.

Who is the killer? Do any of the sisters make it out alive? Is it Meagan back from the dead? Is the one person, Cass, who wanted to get help spared? You will have to go see it to find out, because I am not spoiling the ending, or who gets killed, how, and why! :)

Goooood Mornin'

My suggestion is you play the music from the video as you read, it just fits today's good mood!

Today was a very full day. I got up early because the family had plans to spend time together. We actually went to the mall first, which is odd, as my parents HATE the mall, but it was my Dad's idea, so okay. He did choose my least favorite mall sadly, West Farms. Sure it has the Blue Moon, but that stuff is very pricey. The reason it is my least favorite is that most of it's stores are not affordable. You have Tiffany's, Louis Vuitton, Steve Madden, Bare Essenctuals, Godiva, etc. It has some of the stores I like to peek in, like Hot Topic and Bath & Body Works, etc. But the majority are higher end stores. Not that I haven't been in HIGHER end malls. Go to the Millenia Mall in Florida...that place I was afraid to touch anything in the corridors!! But it was fun to stroll the floors with the whole family. Sam got Mom some Munson's cream centered chocolates, she loves Munsons' but rarely gets it. My parents were astonished to see the teen boy standing bare chested in front of Hollister, please the kid was like pre-pubescent, gross! LOL. We had fun in Brookstone, they had these self-contained things that housed 2 tiny frogs, we had to be dragged away from those, the frogs were so cute!!

Then we went to lunch at Olive Garden. And because it was like 2 or so, we only waited maybe 2 minutes before being seated. Lovely! It is never-ending pasta bowl time, so my Dad and Katie were all set, but as I have a hard time (okay can't really, only ravioli, lasagna and gnocchi) I get my newest fave, the Chicken and Gnocchi Veronese, it is so yummy!! Mom got cheese ravioli with meat sauce and Sandy got her beloved Seafood Alfredo. I was in bliss. And knowing we were bringing the piece of cheesecake and Black Tie mousse cake home for later, I must have had too much and it expanded, because all of a sudden, I HATED food. Oy. We stopped by Target, because we are looking for a new pressure cooker, and I found a new cardigan. Okay I found a few ones I don't have, but I limited myself to this one that is a deep teal/turquoise. I love the ones by this company, they have long sleeves so the sleeves go to my knuckles which I love. I have it in this new color, black, white, brown, lilac, light blue, light green, brazen pink. LOL. My typical fall/winter outfit is jeans, a graphic tee, a cardigan, vans/faux-coverse and maybe a cute scarf. I really want some with patterns, like stripes or embroidery, etc. Here's to hoping! LOL. I love them, what can I say?! I would also love a gray one and they had a hunter green one. I also bought this shirt I have been looking at, but wanted my Mom's opinion on. It says "I'm just one big freaking ray of sunshine aren't I?", and when Mom saw it she couldn't stop laughing and said I HAD to buy that.

When we got home, Katie got ready to go bellydance and the other 3 took naps. I went and rented the movie we wanted to watch later, then stopped by Payless, and sadly found nothing like the shoes I wanted. I went into the Fashion Bug and found a brown pair I liked, but was feeling really cheap so $30 seemed too high today. Then I decided to drive to Plainville and go to Old Navy. They were having a HUGE graphic tee sale, but here is the problem. The girls tees run very SMALL, so with my tummy I don't want being clung to, and my enormous busom, I can't buy these, and they are so THIN and soft, my tee requirement. And the guys? Something happened 2 years ago and they are all so heavy, I cannot wear shirts that heavy. I like them thin and soft. So I lucked out there and at Marshall's. I decided to stop in the arts/crafts store, A.C. Moore, in case they had anything cute for Halloween and wasn't seeing anything I felt I HAD to own, but as I passed an aisle, some pendants and beads caught my eye. WHY, oh WHY?! I never go in the bead aisle, but I love pendants, I am a necklace addict, and today my eyes got caught. And they expanded the jewelery making aisle to 2 1/2 aisles!! So while I was fine with ignoring beads (I find beading stressful, and prefer pendants to be the focus), the pendants, all the pendants were SO alluring. I luckily pared it down to 3 pendant, 4 chains, 1 thing so I can extend those 4 chains a few more inches, and these...round things. LOL. But there were so many cute ones, it was hard. Even ones they consider for charms, I would LOVE on a necklace. So with a successful shopping trip, I headed home.

My Dad ended up pleading too tired to the movie and Sandy didn't want to see it, so with her, we watched an NCIS and then she headed up for a bath. So it was me and Mom and we watched the movie she had picked. Arachnophobia. You know it is funny, I watch all sorts of horror movies, hacking and blood spurting, etc, but this movie always scares me! And it had been a long time since I had seen it last because my heart was beating so fast and I got scared so bad when I felt something crawl on me...it was the air. Oy. For the last 25 minutes my Mom sat beside me, because that is when ALL the spiders show up!! Aggghhh! And I keep looking around, looking at corners, making sure no spiders are there. I am going to be paranoid for at least 24 hours, I know it. I checked the toilet, the shower (actually made Mom check for me, she kills spiders for me!), keep checking my glass, etc. Spiders terrify me and so this is my movie weak spot, I am terrified of Arachnophobia, not enough NOT to watch it, my heart is still too fast, 2 hours later!!

And here is a wonderful pic of me...eating grass!! Yup thought it would make you laugh so thus I took it! :)

CD's, Chili's and Slammin' movies

Well things did not go exactly as planned today. I slept for 12 hours straight and still awoke feeling tired. This bug is yucky!! And you should hear me when I first wake up and I am trying to get my chest and throat clear, it is NOT a pretty sound. LOL! So by the time I was wondering where everyone was and what was going on, I found out both my Dad and Mom were taking naps, Sam was taking off to see her friend's BF do that fake wrestling stuff and Katie was off to bellydance at Cafe Lebanon. So it was just me and Max. Max who looks gorgeous by the way. He got his hair cut today so he is so soft and smooth and you can see the "eyeliner" near his eyes, which is why we say he has Egyptian eyes. Here click on these two pics and you can see his "eyeliner"!!

And here is a picture of his poor bandaged paw. He is so tired from the painhe was in and from the antibiotic, he is about as pitiful as me. I call him and my Dad the "Boo-boo Boys".

So it was just me and Max. And as sick as I feel, I have been cooped up for almost 4 days in this house, so I ran down the street to Target. I figured maybe while I was gone, Mom and Dad would wake up and we would GO to the movies like we were supposed to. So I picked up the Jessie James cd that I have been waiting to get, and HOLY crap, Target had it for $7!! Score! I love the 2 songs that have been out for awhile, Wanted and Blue Jeans. They rock! Plus I found a great blue soft cotton scarf on clearance, so I was a happy shopper.

I drive back home and the 'rents? STILL asleep. So still just me and the dog. Bored out of our gourds. Okay it was just me bored, Max was more than happy to have someone to snuggle against. Katie calls up, now Cafe Leb is all the way in West Springfield, Mass. We live in Southington, CT. So it is over an hour drive just to get there. And she arrives and there is already a bellydancer there. The owner double-booked, and did he even compensate her gas money? No. I think this guy is an idiot. I swear, Katie does not make much money with him, he is cheap and he pulls this kind of crap ALL the time. AND he pays poorly? I would stop working for him as often as she does. Half her pay goes to the gas money, and he is all, I pay you 100 bucks but my Mass. girls only get 85. Oooh, that is because his "Mass." girls live nearby, really close, and they know he is cheap which is why Kate is always up there, they only take his gig if they have nothing better offered! So she is on her way home.

Drugged up Dad shows himself around 7:45pm, he is totally surprised that he not only slept, but he slept for a long time. He was sorry we didn't go to the movies and when I asked about a late showing he was like "uhhhm no. Too tired". So I asked about dinner, I needed to get out of this house and he wanted Fajitas from Chili's. So we woke my Mom up at 8 and Kate got home and the four of us went for a late dinner. Ya know what? I really don't like Chili's any more. I used to LOVE the chicken crispers, but now they seem like so fatty fried, it is a little gross. Because I don't have anything there I like, I tried the 3 appetizers, with the crispers, 2 mini chicken sandwiches and the Southwestern eggrolls. But we got an appetizer of the Chili con Queso and just having a little of that, I could barely eat a mini chicken sandwich and one crisper, which IS as nasty as I remembered. What happened? It was my favorite meal for years until a few years ago!?!

Then Katie asked if I wanted to see a movie with her, she seemed to need out of the house, I figure she must be frustrated with all this crap. So we were trying to decide what to see. At the top of my list is The Perfect Getaway, but Kate is all Nooo I hate scary movies....but she loves Haunted mansions and mazes, etc. What the heck?! So she said if we went with both of our second choices, which was Bandslam, she would see Perfect Getaway with me next! Score! So we left for a 10:25 pm showing and as we got out of the neighborhood, we ran into Sam, and asked her to go. And she was "You're going to see Bandslam. You are GOING to see Bandslam? You're going to see Bandslam...okay". LOL. She said it was a teeny-bopper movie but it doesn't matter, they are her weakness too and she knows it!

And you know what? It isn't a teeny-bopper movie. It was really good! It is about learning who you really are and embracing that part of you that makes you different from other people. You need to accept the fact that you may be different from everyone else, but that is what could make a huge difference is someone else's life. The story is told from Will Sutton's point of view. He is the nerdy music-obsessed guy who moves to a new town, and expects this place to be just like home, where he had no friends and no one who understood him...and his penchant with writing letters to David Bowie...all the time. But before he knows it he has befriended Sa5m (the 5 is silent) and he starts hanging around Charlotte, who sees he is special and convinces him to be the manager for her new band. With his gift, he knows what they need to be good and starts going after the people they need, as shy and scared as he is. And he starts to fall in love. But him falling in love is being put to the test because of how dedicated he is to his band. As they head towards their goal, winning Bandslam and a record deal, Will's past returns to haunt him, and he experiences some major heartache and break. Is this new life with friends and maybe even a girlfriend meant for him? Or will he go back to old Will, alone and picked on every day? It is a movie worth seeing and has great music. Sure you know Vanessa Hudgens is in the movie, but so is Aly Michalka of Aly & AJ, a popular sister duet. The music is just stellar and I will definitely be buying this movie when it gets out. Lisa Kudrow is great as Will's way overprotective mom who is not used to her son HAVING friends so when he gets some, she is kind of jealous and a wreck! Go see it now!

So while I may still be that stuff stuck under your shoe, I had a good time today, even if all the good stuff happened late at night. That is my time of the day anyway! Have a great night all!
